First StageCoach Theatre Arts School Opens In Ontario
We are excited to announce that as of September 2010, kids in the Peterborough, Ontario area will have a chance to sing, dance and act at this incredible Performing Arts School as we open our doors to accept students. Founded in Britain in 1988 and today with over 40,000 students worldwide, the first Stagecoach School opened in western Canada in 2006.
Stagecoach Performing Arts Schools offer a safe environment where children receive quality training in acting, singing and dancing. We welcome students of all ages and abilities. Previous experience is not necessary --- all we ask is that students are enthusiastic and keen to learn. We offer a fun experience where creativity is nurtured and technique and style are developed each week. As students learn to act, sing and dance, they become more confident, poised and self-assured. These are skills for life!
Our instructors are all professionals in their field and experienced teachers. They share a common passion for imparting their knowledge and experience to the next generation in a fun and educational manner.
Classes run on Saturday mornings:
Early Stages, for students aged 4-6, introduces preschoolers to the joys of singing, dancing and acting with 1.5 hour weekly sessions.
Our main school provides older students, aged 6-18, with 3 hours of instruction each week. This time is divided into one hour sessions of singing, dance and drama.
Twice a year we give presentations to family and friends. One takes the form of a demonstration of class work, and the second is a musical theatre style presentation. All of the students enormously enjoy the experience of performing for a live audience. And the skills learned on stage won't disappear when they come off stage ---- the confidence they gain will remain with them throughout their life!
