Canada – July 21st, 2025 – Stagecoach Halifax has been named Global Franchisee of the Year in their category by Stagecoach Performing Arts Global at the 2025 Annual Conference. This award recognizes excellence in leadership, community impact and the overall contribution to the Stagecoach family.

Stagecoach Halifax franchisee Kristi Wenaus was recognized for her dedication to nurturing young performers in Nova Scotia, and for a great team of staff who create dynamic programming, and are so passionate about Stagecoach.

“While Julie and I were there to accept it, this award belongs 100% to the entire, incredible Stagecoach Halifax team,” said Kristi Wenaus, Principal of Stagecoach Halifax. “Every single one of our managers, teachers, support team, parents & volunteers gives their all, each and every week, inspiring our students, building our community and making our classes magic by ensuring every one of our Stagecoach students feels supported and celebrated!”

Since their start in September 2019, the Stagecoach Halifax team has been dedicated to building confidence and creativity through acting, singing, and dancing training for their students. With five schools spread throughout Halifax, Dartmouth, and Bedford, they are home to over 250 youth, teen, and adult students singing, dancing, and acting while growing their confidence each and every week.

In addition to weekly training, Stagecoach Halifax students have access to exceptional local, national, and international performance opportunities that celebrate their talent and hard work. Each year, students take the stage at the annual Nova Scotia Showcase at the Bella Rose Theatre in Halifax, sharing their progress with family and friends in a professional theatre setting. Selected students are also invited to represent Nova Scotia at Showcase Canada, held at the prestigious Meridian Arts Centre in Toronto, where they perform alongside Stagecoach students from across the country. This July, a group of students will travel to France to perform at Disneyland Paris, bringing their creativity and courage to an international audience. These opportunities reflect Stagecoach Halifax’s commitment to nurturing young performers and opening doors for them both at home and abroad.

The Stagecoach Halifax team is proud to bring this prestigious award home to Nova Scotia and looks forward to continued growth, creativity, and community impact. As they celebrate this global recognition, their focus remains on what matters most: empowering students to take centre stage with confidence, courage, and joy—whether in local theatres, national showcases, or on international stages like Disneyland Paris. Halifax students, families, and teachers are truly taking a well-deserved bow on the world stage.
