At Stagecoach Guelph, children and young people develop their skills in singing, dancing and acting in a fun, supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to be themselves. Our classes are designed for all experience levels\u2014from children taking their very first steps into performing arts to young people who already love being on stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Happens in a Stagecoach Class?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Every Stagecoach session is active, creative and full of energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students might warm up with theatre games, learn a new song, work on dance choreography, explore a character through acting exercises or rehearse a performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our classes combine singing, dancing and acting so students get to experience the complete performing arts experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And because our programs are designed for different ages, activities are carefully adapted to suit each stage of a child’s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Whether your child is 4 or 14, there’s an opportunity to learn, create and have fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is Stagecoach Right for a Shy Child? <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Absolutely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your child doesn’t need to be the loudest person in the room or even want to be on centre stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Some children arrive bursting with confidence. Others need a little more time to feel comfortable. Our teachers create a positive and encouraging environment where students can participate at their own pace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We don’t expect children to arrive confident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We help them become confident.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
For some students, that might mean taking the lead in a performance. For another, it might simply mean speaking up in front of their classmates for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every step counts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does My Child Need Performing Arts Experience?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Not at all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
No previous experience is required, and there are no auditions to join our regular Stagecoach programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your child might be a natural performer, have taken dance or drama classes before, or have never stepped onto a stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They’re all welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our teachers meet students where they are and help them develop their skills and confidence as they progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Ages Can Join Stagecoach Guelph?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We offer programs for children and young people at different stages of their development:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Early Stages | Ages 4\u20136<\/strong> A fun and supportive introduction to the performing arts, helping young children develop confidence, creativity and social skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Main Stages | Ages 6\u201316<\/strong> Our core performing arts program where students develop their singing, dancing and acting skills while building confidence and friendships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Program availability can vary by term, so check our current Guelph class schedules for the latest classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will My Child Get to Perform?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Performing is an important part of the Stagecoach experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Depending on the program, term and school, students may have opportunities to perform for family and friends, take part in showcases, productions or special events nationally and internationally, and share what they’ve been working on in class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But performance isn’t about creating perfect performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s about giving children the opportunity to experience that wonderful moment when they think:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI did it!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Watching a child walk onto a stage with confidence after weeks of rehearsing can be one of the most rewarding parts of the Stagecoach experience, for them and for their family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Should My Child Wear to Stagecoach?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows them to move freely. Leggings, athletic pants and shorts are all good options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also require students to wear their Stagecoach T-shirt<\/strong> to class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For dance, jazz shoes are recommended for our Early Stages classes and required for our Main Stages classes. They provide the flexibility students need to move comfortably while learning dance technique and choreography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The most important thing? Come ready to move, create and have fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What About My Child’s Safety?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Your child’s safety and wellbeing are incredibly important to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Stagecoach schools follow established child-safeguarding procedures designed to provide a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for children and young people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our teachers and staff are required to complete appropriate screening and child-protection training, and our schools follow procedures relating to student supervision, attendance, emergencies and safeguarding concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We want every child to feel that Stagecoach is a place where they are safe, supported and valued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But being a great Stagecoach teacher is about more than knowing how to sing, dance or act. It’s about knowing how to encourage a nervous child, challenge a confident performer, celebrate progress and create an environment where every student feels that they belong. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What If My Child Doesn’t Like It?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
We understand that choosing a new activity can feel like a big decision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That’s why Stagecoach Guelph offers a two-week trial<\/strong>, giving your child the opportunity to experience a class, meet their teachers, make some new friends and discover what Stagecoach is all about before committing to the full term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To take advantage of the trial, all you need to do is register for the location and time that works for you and your family and at the end of the registration process you’ll be offered two options: Pay in Full or Pay the Deposit – the deposit holds your spot and gives you access to the first two weeks of class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
If, after two weeks, your child loves us, your spot is secure and we’ll send you an invoice for the balance of your fees. If after two weeks they decide that it isn’t for them, let us know and we’ll take you off our list and no further commitment is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s a great way to find out whether Stagecoach is the right fit for your child.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
