Our programmes combine acting, singing and dance for a complete musical theatre experience. Early Stages

(4 – 6 year-olds)

Early Stages classes give children the opportunity to make new friends and have fun exploring each of the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama, as well as learning key life skills along the way.

Early Stages Plus

(6 – 7 year-olds)

Early Stages Plus gives children the opportunity to build on their singing, dancing and drama skills in a longer two-hour class, with more challenge and independence as they take the next step towards Main Stages.

Main Stages classes are split in three age-appropriate groups, where children develop skills in the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama. These confidence-boosting classes see children build key life skills we call Creative Courage for Life®.

Further Stages

(14+ year-olds)

Our Further Stages give older students the chance to extend their performance skills. Through in-depth training, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting. We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Adult Classes offer a welcoming and encouraging space to explore the three core performing arts disciplines of singing, dancing and acting. With no experience required, these sessions are ideal for building confidence, learning new skills and connecting with others in a fun, supportive environment.

Kristi Wenaus Principal

Meet the team

Meet our Principal

Kristi Wenaus has loved theatre from a young age and studied Theatre Arts at Dalhousie University. She went on to work professionally as a singer and actress across film and stage, including nearly 10 years performing worldwide with Princess Cruise Lines. After returning to Nova Scotia to raise her family, Kristi moved into business development and marketing. She is proud to bring the first Stagecoach school to Atlantic Canada and help children discover their Creative Courage for Life.

The Teachers

  • Chantel Dixon

    Manager

    Chantel Dixon is an actress, singer/songwriter, and musical theater educator from Calgary. With 8 years of experience as an education assistant and instructor, she actively engages in the theater community. Since 2018, she has taught dance and acting to children aged 3-12 and a diploma program in adult learning at AGA College. Chantel performs in Puddle of Mud Productions and is involved in voice acting for the podcast Stargazer. Outside of the arts, she enjoys family time and reading.

  • Corey Ariss

    Singing

    Corey is an educator, performer, and designer based in Calgary with a degree in Theatre Performance from the University of Lethbridge. Since 2021, he has taught with a number of performing arts companies teaching students across Alberta how to find their voice. Most recently, Corey has performed in touring productions of The General, and Snow White. He is committed to creating a welcoming space for young people to find their creative confidence and sing loud and proud.

  • Veronica

    Dance

    Veronika Fodor is an Alberta-based actor, director, theatre educator, voice actor and multidisciplinary artist. A graduate of Red Deer College, she has worked across theatre, film, voiceover and arts education. Veronika has led over 50 school theatre residencies with Trickster Theatre and performed in immersive productions with Aspen Crossing. She also has experience in film directing and voice acting and is passionate about creating engaging arts experiences for audiences of all ages.

  • Emily Houghton

    Dance

    Emily is an educator, choreographer and dancer passionate about creating a fun, welcoming space for students to explore movement and character. She holds a BA in Dance and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary, with training in Trauma-Informed Practices and Specialized Education. Combining her love of performance and teaching, Emily strives to build confidence, encourage healthy habits and create an inclusive environment where every student can grow and create.

  • Dani Driusso

    Drama, Further Stages

    Dani Driusso is an author, speaker, educator and performer passionate about creating courageous learning spaces for children. She holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Calgary and has training in Trauma-Informed Leadership. As an Acting Instructor with Stagecoach, Dani uses play, creativity and compassionate leadership to help students embrace their individuality, build confidence and collaborate through theatre.

  • Antares Ramírez

    Early Stages

    Antares is a Mexican-Canadian actress with a degree in Psychology and over 20 years’ experience in children’s education across Mexico and Canada. She began acting with Gato Negro Spanish Theater and later directed for Casa Mexico Foundation. A co-founder of Expresarte Theater Club, Antares has also worked with Storybook Theater and major community events. She combines her passion for theatre, communication and education while teaching Early Stages.

  • Kaylie

    Early Stages

    Kaylie has been dancing since age eight and singing in choirs since childhood, with a special love for musical theatre. She has acted professionally since age 11, appearing in films, commercials and television, and has trained with casting directors and producers in Calgary and Los Angeles. As a teacher, Kaylie is passionate about helping young performers build confidence, find their voice and discover their own love for the performing arts.

  • Kiara De Menezes

    Early Stages

    Kiara has loved music from a young age and discovered musical theatre through a school production of The Lion King. Her performance experience includes roles in Fiddler on the Roof and Into the Woods. Currently studying at the University of Calgary, she hopes to pursue Early Childhood Education. With experience as a camp counsellor and Sunday school teacher, Kiara is excited to combine her love of performing arts with her passion for working with children at Stagecoach.

  • Almendra Vergara

    Early Stages Assistant

    She is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist based in Calgary, AB, Canada, with a Bachelors degree in Visual Arts. She is a passionate artist who focuses on performing and visual arts and cultural promotion, painting, opera, theatre scenic design and arts education. Her art talks about women, immigrants, human rights, and the relationship between the culture and her Mexican roots.
