A warm welcome to Stagecoach. For many years, we have been providing quality part-time classes in the performing arts. Our aim is to develop young potential through singing, dance and drama classes in a safe and secure environment. Through performing arts the students enjoy learning life skills, which build confidence and stretch their imaginations.

Early Stages classes give children the opportunity to make new friends and have fun exploring each of the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama, as well as learning key life skills along the way.

(6 – 16 year-olds)

Main Stages classes are split in three age-appropriate groups, where children develop skills in the three musical theatre disciplines of singing, dancing and drama. These confidence-boosting classes see children build key life skills we call Creative Courage for Life®.

Further Stages

(14+ year-olds)

Our Further Stages give older students the chance to extend their performance skills. Through in-depth training, we help students to hone their skills in singing, dancing and acting. We also give students the confidence to audition for theatre and vocational drama schools (if that is their goal) and make sure they are well prepared for interviews and auditions.

Amanda Mariani Principal

Meet the team

Meet our Principal

Amanda Mariani is the Principal of Stagecoach West Island and Westmount-NDG, combining a strong performing arts background with extensive teaching experience. She studied Professional Theatre at John Abbott College, performing in Cabaret, Hair and The Rose Tattoo, and holds a degree in Kindergarten/Elementary Education from McGill University. Amanda has taught Music, French and ESL in Quebec and Dubai and brings this experience to supporting Stagecoach students and staff.

The Teachers

  • Natalia Bedik

    Natalia began singing Ukrainian music from a young age and performs across Canada and the U.S. with Ukrainian Trio Rossa. She trained at the Toronto Academy of Acting for Television and Film and is an ACTRA Apprentice with TV and film experience. With over seven years’ experience working with children, Natalia combines her love of music, acting and education while managing Stagecoach West Island.

  • Andrea Benitez

    Drama

    Andrea discovered her love of theatre at age nine and trained with Stagecoach from 2015 to 2022, later performing as Belle in Beauty and the Beast. She also appeared in Come From Away and explored other areas of theatre through school and college. Now studying Commerce at McGill University, Andrea is excited to return to Stagecoach as a teacher and help inspire the next generation of performers.

  • Kylene Mak

    Singing

    Kylene Mak has loved theatre from a young age and brings 12 years of ballet training to her work as a performer. A graduate of John Abbott College’s Professional Theatre Program, her credits include Heathers, Jekyll & Hyde, Grease, Shrek and Mean Girls. She has also performed as Wendy Darling in Hudson Village Theatre’s Peter Pan. Kylene is excited to share her passion for theatre, music and movement with Stagecoach students.

  • Ariane Pigeon

    Dance

    Ariane is a graduate of John Abbott College’s theatre program and currently studies at Concordia University. Her performing arts experience spans theatre, dance and music, including on-camera training, community productions such as Mamma Mia!, and ballet and contemporary dance at Ballet Ouest. She has also worked as a dance captain and choreographer and performed as both a lead and backing vocalist. Ariane is excited to share her love of movement and performance with students.

  • Emilio Ferreira

    Further Stages

    Emilio discovered his love for theatre at age 8, developing an interest in character depth and human emotion. By 12, he became a full ACTRA member and performed with various theatre companies. He received the Louise Chalmers Acting Award in 2017 and graduated from John Abbott’s Professional Theatre Program in 2020. Emilio values teamwork, respect, vulnerability, open-mindedness, humility, and the importance of enjoyment in theatre, which he aims to convey through his teachings.

  • Julia Mehra

    Early Stages

    Julia is currently studying in the Professional Theatre program at John Abbott College. Inspired by productions like Cats and Wicked, she joined Stagecoach at age 12 and has performed as Cady in Mean Girls, the Witch in Into the Woods and Sandy in Grease. With experience working with young children in camp settings, Julia loves helping students explore their creativity and is excited to be part of the Stagecoach Early Stages team!

  • Alyssa Robidoux

    Early Stages

    Alyssa is currently studying Professional Theatre Acting at John Abbott College. For as long as she could remember, she was putting on shows for her family; therefore, joining Stagecoach in 2014 was a natural fit for her. Alyssa’s love for performing continued to grow as she played roles such as Sebastian in “The Little Mermaid,” Karen in “Mean Girls,” and Frenchie in “Grease The Musical!” She has worked as a teaching assistant with Stagecoach since 2025, and has supported and animated summer ca
